Connecting a third-party tool to your Instagram is a significant decision. Your profile is personal, professional, and in many cases a commercial asset. The wrong integration can expose your account, hand access to people who shouldn't have it, or create a dependency you can't easily undo.

Fendr is built to make this as straightforward and as safe as possible.

Fendr uses Meta's official API, the same verified integration used by legitimate business tools across the platform. You authorise access through Instagram's own permission flow, the same way you'd authorise any trusted app. You never enter your Instagram password anywhere on Fendr's platform.

What Fendr gets is specifically scoped: the ability to read and moderate comments on your posts. Nothing else. Fendr cannot post on your behalf, access your messages, change your profile, or read your followers. When you disconnect Fendr, that access ends immediately and completely.

This matters most for athletes, journalists, and professionals whose clubs, employers, or agencies use Fendr to protect them. The organisation sets up the account and covers the cost, but each individual connects their own Instagram through their own authorisation. The organisation never gets the login, can't see the password, and can't access the account independently.

This isn't configurable. It's how Fendr is built, because there's no legitimate reason for anyone other than the account owner to hold Instagram credentials.
